WIA Funding Fuels Grassroots Economic Growth
Items of Note (ION) is designed to demonstrate MWC and PWC's effective use of WIA funding and its engagement of community groups with similar goals/missions by:
- Highlighting performance and workforce data
- Providing media highlights regarding workforce issues
- Featuring community collaboration through MWC Partnerships
- Informing of upcoming MWC, partner and community events and opportunities for legislators to demonstrate their support of the local business community and career seekers.
Beginning the spring of 2009 the ION began being produced jointly by the WIA Local Workforce Investment Boards representing Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix. WIA funds, and partnerships with local public and private groups, enable Maricopa Workforce Connections to positively impact the strength and diversity of Maricopa County's workforce.
