The Executive Committee helps frame the issues for the Board and propose overall approach and direction. They work closely with the MWC Assistant Director and are empowered to make necessary decisions between full Board meetings. These decisions must be ratified by the Board at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. The Executive Committee also helps define the boundaries and relationships between Board Committees and Ad hoc Task Forces, particularly when there is an overlap or conflict.

Membership in the Executive Committee includes all elected officers of the Board, the Chairs of the Development Committee, Operations Committee, Youth Council and 2 at-large members. The MCHSD Workforce Development Assistant Director is a non-voting member of the Executive Committee.
